Five Point Perspective by awlaux Five Point Perspective by awlaux
This is supposed to look like a city from a rooftop. I might move this to scaps later if I come up with a more polished version.

Edit, June 6, 2008: I haven't looked at this one in a long time. I saw it again tonight, and was surprised to see 323(!) pageviews, and a whole list of comments asking how this was done. I've decided to draw-up a little tutorial explaining the process. Hopefully I can get that up in the next few weeks. All you need is a compass, ruler, protractor, a little theory, and some imagination. I might even draw a few more like this, only more polished. Stay tuned.

Edit, August 29, 2008: The tutorial is now up! See it here.

amazing! i never know there was more than three! is there a cap?

Nope! There's no cap. Just imagine if one of the buildings was rotated 45, so that you're looking at the corner instead of the front. That building would require new vanishing points. Since you can rotate an object an infinite number of ways, there are really an infinite number of vanishing points. In this drawing, though, I only used five.

Wow! Old school art practice.

Pretty good work, there. It's so easy to get confused when you're playing with perspective.
